Segregation of Dance Communities

Post by admin »

As we can easily observe, distinct dance communities centered around one form of dance (such as ballet, modern, ballroom, tap, etc.,) and segregated from other dance communities can sometimes lead to insularity in spite of the closely knit, “family” atmosphere they create among “insiders”.

Q1: Is it possible that this kind of segregation breeds an elitism that dissuades cooperation or collaboration among distinct dance communities?

Q2: What are some ways, realized or hypothetical, that they can be brought together for collaborative, collective advocacy?
